TEDS (Transducer Electronic data Sheet)
The electronic data sheet for sensors stores important sensor data, such as sensor and manufacturer identification data, calibration factors, calibration date, interval for the next calibration and much more.
By using TEDS, a “plug & play” configuration of the measuring amplifier is achieved if a corresponding measuring amplifier is used. The reliability of the measurement data is significantly improved, especially in systems with a large number of sensors.
The TEDS data format is standardized in IEEE1451.4. The data is organized in so-called “templates”.
The basic template contains manufacturer data.
Template no. 33 is for force sensors, template no. 35 is for strain gauges.
