The nport 5110A device server expands the GSV-8 with a TCP / IP network interface. The device server is mounted with two screws on the GSV-8 housing. The RS232 interface is connected to the device server with a supplied null modem cable.
The nport Administrator software is used to find the device server on the network. The IP address can be assigned for use in your own network. Alternatively, an automatic assignment of the IP address can be configured via a DHCP server.
A virtual COM port is created in "REALCom" mode. The data is collected, for example, using the software GSVmulti.
